Damn. 0-60 in 7.8 seconds.
That is sick for a Truck that weighs 5700 pounds.
Car and Driver said they got 8.5 mpg - hahah.

8.5 MPG? Ouch. Even my 93 Suburban isn't that bad. My dad and I drove 2200 miles over xmas to Wyoming and averaged 12.6 in a Navigator.

Fuel economy
EPA city driving -- 12 mpg
EPA highway driving -- 16 mpg
C/D-observed fuel economy -- 14 mpg

8.5 mpg is what the computer recorded for the previous driver.

Well, I guess at least that is relatively economical and speedy compared to the Excursion XLT, with its thirsty 6.8-liter V-10 and 7,000-pound curb weight.

I'm going to have a bigger SUV than all of you. I'm going to buy a tank and carve out the inside. Just to "help" gas mileage I'll throw 6 tonnes of bloody cement into a trailer which I'll tow around at all times.

Doesn't compare to the 6000lb Bentlys that can make 60 in less than 6 secs! Of course, the prices don't compare ;)

<<the navigator's 5.4 can do a 7.8 or better >>

Ah, NO.

Proof

Click "Tech Data" Link.

8.5 seconds... doesn't even break 8 ticks.

Yeah, I think that handling number on the skidpad is in line with other quality $40K autos such as Studabakers, Model-T's, etc.

But hey who needs good handling, you'll just crash through the opposition and barracades!

CANYANERO!

The new Vortec Engines always report bad milage at 1st but after the break in period a few guys I know said they are getting up to 18 out of the 5.3's

Paxton has a nice little project supercharger for these also, cleans that 7.8 0-60 right up ;)

Are people really so obsessed with the tiny size of their genetilia that they have to buy these MASSIVE SUV's?

OK, somebody had to say it :)
