Those are way better than the stupid car-and-driver awards where Ford Focus was like 3rd place.

<< The Jeep Liberty is a winner!

w00t!
>>

Let's see:

1) Useless bumpers which add up to over $5,000 damage in a simple 5MPH collision
2) First vehicle (car, truck, or SUV) to rollover in 10 years in Autoweek's test
3) Latest recall concerning the driver's side airbag which could go off too late.

ALL WITHIN THE PAST MONTH!!

Yeah, sure looks like a winner to me:disgust: Not to mention that it has a small 3.7 liter 210HP V6 to lug it's porky 4,304 lb ass. And also that it has a punishing ride on the road, and even off-road.

The Liberty is definitely having a bad PR month. Kinda sad, since it's one of Chrysler's bright spots this year.

I figured you would chime in and crap on the Liberty. :D

That being said, have you driven in one on and off road?

On road, yes. Off road, no. I took my neighbor's across the street word for it on the off-road ride (they used to have a '98 Cherokee). But the thing bucks you around on road just as badly as our old '94 Explorer did with its solid rear axle and front "I" Beam suspension.

You'd be surprised at how many vehicles I drive. If a new vehicle comes out that interests me, I don't hesitate at all to drive down to the local dealer to try one out.

Did it have any of the "off-road" options, like the Up Country suspension, and/or the off road package?

Those two options make a big difference in ride quality. In case you were wondering, I have driven both versions, both on, and off road at Jeep College. :D

It was just a regular Liberty Limited V6 4x4. It didn't have the off-road package, but it was pretty much loaded though.

As for off-roading in general, climbing over boulders and rocks isn't my cup o tea ;)
