This isn't that difficult. There are few trade off with either tech...
The LCD will be completely flicker free, the text will be exceptionally clear, and it will take up a lot less space. In the otherhand, it will ghost slightly compared to a CRT (I have not seen one that doesn't), and the dark colors and black won't be quite as deep as they are with a CRT. Basically, it comes down to what you are willing to sacrifice...
In my experience: I was a bit reluctant to switch to an LCD, but there are very few (if any) widescreen CRT's actually available for purchase anymore. Plus, the 2005FPW can be picked up for relatively cheap with a bit of coupon research and patience. After havning owned an LCD since Jan, I will never, ever go back. I pretty much hate every CRT I look at. It really is a mater of personal preference though.
If you want to get a rough idea of what a 2005FPW will be like, go to any place that sells macs, as the panel on the 20" Cinema display and the Dell 2005FPW are the same one. This will give you a very good idea of the image quality to expect and the size.
