2001FP & Gaming Res

Hey dudes,

I'm pretty sure that most ppl can't play games like FarCry, UT2K4, and upcoming games like HL2, Doom3 at 1600x1200. How does the 2001FP fair when you scale it down? I hope it's fantastic, because I think I'm going to pay 750 bucks for one....

wut do u mean by most people cant play those games at 1600x1200? u mean that their video card cant handle it? or that its the game or lcd itself? as long as someone has a 9800 pro or better, they'll be able to play it at those resolutions on a 20".

It scales down great. I love mine and have yet to run any games at max resolution, not quite sure why.

Scales down great @ 1024x768, no ghosting, etc. 😉

Scales really good but of course doesn't look good as native res of 1600x1200. 1600x1200 is just beautiful. If you have new gen videocard like 6800U or X800XT, you should be able to play every game at native res unless that game doesn't support that high res. I play every game that supports 1600x1200 at that res including FarCry with my 6800GT.

Heh, what games are you talking about? Fry Cry, Doom3, HL2 would be a few. Even UT2k4 would have issues, I run mine at 1280x1024 and I get the ocassional drop in FPS. In Farcry, I can't play it above 1024x768 with mid detail without it dropping to under 30fps. BTW, I have a 9800pro w/ P4 2.26b @ 2.55Ghz (that's all my board will let me take it to; damn p4t533-c), and a gig of samsung pc800.

What I would give to have a 6800GT. Too bad I don't ahve 400 bucks to drop on it. 🙂

Come on now, if you can afford to fork out $750 for an LCD, you should be able to buy the latest videocard to play games 😉

lol, i'm getting rid of my 1800FP to get this. 🙂

i'll be using this alot longer than the span of that video card will have.

500 bucks for what, year and a half before the hardware is replaecd by something 2x as fast?
