1stly my specs

1.8 p4 Willammette
512 266 Ram
Leadtek Ti4800SE
53.03 drivers
Win XP Pro
3D mark 2001 (1st edition - does it matter much?)

And my score? Is it normal?
A little more than 7700. I upgraded from an fx5200. Used driver cleaner and installed 53.03. Will a format help?

a TI 4800 should perform around the Ti4200 mark (yes it has a bigger number, but the chip used is that of a 4200------i think! dont hold me to it!)

but anyway that should be making 9000-10,000 ish in 3dmark 2001

just go to the Nvidia Driver Property panel and make sure that everything is set to performance and that you dont have Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropy(ic filtering) turned on

back in the days in 2001 i had Athlon 1600+, 256mb, and Asus A7V266-E and Radeon 8500 64mb stock speed and i got 8800s with stock everything and old drivers

at that time my friend also let me borrow Ti4200 64mb i scored 10200 stock speeds with it

so you should be looking at 10000 points

4800se is based on 4400 chipset or stock clockspeeds of 275/550

cheers

no.

the 4800SE is the 4400 with agp 8X

the 4800 is the 4600 with agp 8X i believe.

there is no 4800anything with the 4200 chip.

I was being very facetious and predicting nick's response, which was probably going to be very similar (hence the prediction).
