2000 Honda Accord barely plays CD-R's

For those of you with a 2000 Honda Accord, what brand of CD-R media do you guys use?

My car barely plays anything. It plays older CDR's just fine (Imations, TDK's, Verbatims) that were burnt around 1999-2001.

But now days with the new media I get, it barely plays or dont even play at all.. I bought a whole 50 pack of TDK's last month but it just ejects. Then I bought some FujiFilm TY's made from Japan cuz i heard those were the best, but those barely recognizes it and plays. It takes forever to load as well when I try to skip foward to a certain track.

I put a CDR into my Acura's CD changer once.

$150 to get it out. Dealer told me never to put one in there again.

badboyeee, have you tried a lens cleaner recently?

hrmmm, nope... is this for the cd burner or my car stereo?

If you're sure that the back-ups work on different drives besides your burner, I'd try a lens cleaner or at least some compressed air on you car stereo IMO, I hope this helps a bit 🙂

the CDR's play fine at every other car at my house. I will try the compressed air on my car stereo. thanks

This is why you install your own stereo system instead of the overpriced factory stuff they try to stick you with at dealerships.

They play fine in my 2000 Honda Accord. 'course, that's probably because I replaced the factory unit with a CD/MP3 changer. 😀

my dad has a 2000 EX with the CD player. it's played everything i've shoved in it without issue. i think some burners/programs just produce crappy burns. i've noticed a marked difference in the quality between CD's burned on G3 macs and my own discs. the mac disc barely play in anything and when they do, the player takes like 3 minutes to change songs. pretty pitiful.
