2000 accord and 2001-2002 engine differences? The 2000 accord was the last engine they made before they marketed them with the ulev engine logos or side window decals. Is there an actual difference between the engine performance?

I'm not too sure, but if you give some more information maybe somebody else could help?

Which model are you talking about V6-EX or just regular old EX, LX, DX, Special edition?

I myself have access to a V6-EX and an EX. I love them both, the EX is a stick, if only the V6 was a stick too....but they didn't offer it.

i'm pretty sure the 6s are all 200 hp sohc engines. not sure about the 4 bangers.

Wait, misread that. There shouldn't be any difference between 00-01 and '02 besides maybe cleaner emissions. The engines offered in the '03 are quite different, however.

In '98, the LX 4 was LEV, and the EX 4 was ULEV. The 98 ULEV (EX) only had 145 HP, I think, while the LEV (LX) was 150 HP. After 98 (or 99?), the EX and LX fours were all rated at 150 HP, regardless of the sticker on the window.

except in california where they were rated at 149HP which reasons i know not of.

my 99 has the ulev window decal on it.. its 200hp as well, the 4 banger are around 150.. prob 149 or 146

the main difference is 98/99 uses spark plug wires, the 2000+ i'm pretty sure uses "Direct Ignition" aka "Distributorless" the 2002+ also uses 5w20 for super fuel efficiency, etc.. regular are 5w30.. i think they're all the same performaing engines..
