Don't know how this fares with other CD-R specials of late. Anyway, here goes:

200 Samsung Digitall 12x "Guaranteed" 80-min "High Density" CD-Rs on two 100-disc spindles inside of a blue box
UPC 044701994008
Might have a Staples SKU of 99400 (according to sticker on shelf)
$49.94, according to sticker on shelf; initially rang up as $99.94
I got a $10 off coupon via e-mail. I haven't seen the code posted anywhere, tho.

Gold dye, not blue or green (I haven't been following the dye versus quality discussions). But, the discs work in my Pioneer 301-disc changer (which can read CDRWs).

-SUO, $60 dollars richer? ;)

Darn italics messin' sh!t up.

Hmm, I remember reading that gold colored CDR are made of either PthaloCyanine or Advanced PthaloCyanine, which have a life span of 100+ plus years... If these are really gold bottomed CDR, and they are what I think they are, this is a real HOT CDR deal.

Can you check the CD-Rs by using CDR Identifier?

I used samsung cdrs, which were the worst. I don't want to spend a penny on crappy CDRs.

Nah, render. You got it all wrong! Smart and Friendly are THE WORST cdr money can buy. I call them dumb and stubborn, I burnt with them, but couldnt read on them after. =)

CDR Identifier 1.61

ATIP: 97m 18s 06f
Manufacturer: Unknown Disc Identification Code
Dye: Phthalocyanine (Type 6)
Media: CD-Recordable
Capacity: 702.83MB (79M 59s 74f / LBA 359849)
Recording Speeds: min unknown, max unknown (again box says 12x guaranteed)

All I can say is that they work with my Ricoh MP9120A burner at 12x and in my Pioneer CD changer. I'm sure someone else will dissect the details.

BTW, there were at least 3 more boxes at Fairfax Circle (VA) Staples. Didn't seem to be a clearance or anything.

I can't type tonight.

Do you think that the sticker that showed the price on the shelf as 50 instead of the 100, was a local thing or, do you think every staples has it the same price on the sticker

by the way this is a repost, the other thread died, i believe

The stickers on the shelf **CLEARLY** stated 200PK. Therefore, I'd have a hard time believing that this is local to this store.

These discs have a writable surface. I can scan one and e-mail you if you like. PM the request to me.

I found these at my local Staples with the $49.94 price still on the shelf. They also rang up as $99. They said the shelf price was wrong, that it was from an old sale, but they had to give them to me for $49.94 anyways. I also had the coupon for $10 off, so it was 200 80 minute CDR's for $42.92 out the door :)

They had these at my local Staples. They scan in at $99.95 and
there's no tag on the shelf at my store stating differently. So
this is a deal local to the original poster's store only, apparently.
