Just so others won't get confused, you should change your subject line to $200 OFF, not $200 Dell Inspiron...other than that, this seems pretty good.

for a second there i thought it was a $200 laptop. insane deal, but then you edited your thread title so its "$200 off" 😀

mark my word too. I jump on this as soon as i get some financial support..........in a way this is a hot deal....but in a way the celery arent so hot............ but its doable. probably a comparable p3 550 speed......maybe.

Not a bad price. Try to get the internal modem + NIC option upgrade if you can, even if you don't have ethernet right now. It may come in handy for the future, and shouldn't cost you that much more. Beats using PCMCIA nics.

FYI, although it's a Celeron, keep in mind that notebook Celery parts run at 100MHz. Also, the CPU is upgradable too as it's socket based.

Just bought one through the consumer division (business division MUST charge sales tax so figure out if it is worth it (though they do give you $200 off and free shipping to make up for it which might be better than the $100 rebate and free double ram offered through the consumer division)

Inspiron 4000
Celery 700
128 ram (64 upgrade free)
5 gig hd
8x DVD upgrade
Upgraded Battery (important for some - I just know I will be mad if I can't finish watching that DVD!)
56k and 10/100 ethernet (a great idea if you have dsl etc.)

came out to $1547 (but then there is a $100 rebate) so $1447.

I couldnt find anything that even comes close to the price!

Which is a great price considering
