Scrapster: I'm in the same boat as you: my order status still shows "not yet shipped". OfficeMax told me that I would get delivery Tuesday...then after they didn't come, a CSR told me that they had just shipped that day (Tuesday) and that I would either receive the CDRs on Tuesday or Wednesday (yeah, right - same day by UPS Ground, lol)...then Wednesday when they failed to show again, a CSR told me that she would have UPS put a tracer on it and call me back tonight. That didn't happen either.

Last year, I swore I would never set foot in an OfficeMax store again, but judging from my first (and probably last) experience with OfficeMax.com, it seems that their online presence is no better than the B&Ms...this is one of the worst piece of s**t companies I have ever dealt with.

Damn that was fast! Ordered it on Tuesday, got it on Wednesday, with free shipping and $10 coupon, too. They'll be netting me a few bucks after the rebate goes through. Mine are the Taiwanese ones, but I'm not too concerned since they're free. I've already burned several with no problems.

Hey, I did not happen to find the rebate form in the package and the item does not seem to be on officemax's website anymore. Can someone point me in the direction of the rebate form? Thanks.

Why use the web site when you can go get it right away? Besides, OfficeMax is the only one of the Big 3 where they actually answer my questions and help me. Stapples and OD are crap. I'm glad OD went out of business. They never had anything or even anyone to help me. Maybe OM is better here in Cleveland because they're based here (I live across the street from the original store), but they blow the competition away, at least with service. I don't compare prices closely enough to tell. (And they're not much to work for, but that's for another forum.)

I noticed the rebate form says 8 to 10 weeks. My guess is I'll get a $45 check for my birthday in August. I've heard bad things about OM rebates. But I haven't opened them. I can return them if I get fed up with waiting.

Also, they were packaged just like the other 100 packs I've had. I haven't had any 100 packs with anything around them, just wrapped in plastic on a spindle. They looked okay to me. If the rebate comes through, who cares, right?

Anyone have solid evidence about the rebate process?

My 100 CDRs finally came today...with NO RECEIPT AT ALL. OfficeMax really sucks...definitely in the Top 3 most incompetent vendors that I have dealt with (the other 2 being Dell and Alto Computers).

Web shopping in general sucks anymore. With the exception of Land's End, I try to avoid it as much as possible. I've had delays and wrong items forever now. I try to do the store thing now. I don't think I've ever received a receipt online anywhere. I think you have to print it out when you place the order. That's what I needed to do the last time I ordered something from Outpost.

But B&M OfficeMax gives you a separate receipt to use for the rebate. I like that.

All my orders have come with a packing receipt, or just print it out from the website

I don't think they would accept a printout from the Web site that states that the item still hasn't shipped :)

Called Customer Service and supposedly they will fax me a receipt tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I took back the pens (avery) and (bic) that I ordered from OM.com to my local OM B&M.. (since I just ordered the pens to get the order over 50$ to use the 10$ coupon and get free shipping..
SO these cdr's cost me 35$ now.. and I will pocket 10$ after rebate..
NICE!

dermotf, apparantly you didn't even read your own article. It only occurs if you give someone the URL after you've completed your order (duh)...

besides..

you should never choose to 'save credit card so you dont have to reenter it' to any web site if given the option..
