If I have ~$200 to spend on cpu+MB, and also like to have some OC capability, what should I get? Thanks much!

I'm thinking to get an X800GTO. As for the RAM, guess it's going to DDR pc3200.

Also, I have an old Antec 1080AMG case with 430w Truepower PSU. Will this support newer MB and pci-e vid card?

Many thanks!

All of that should be fine. I just ordered a Chaintech Vnf4 board from Newegg 77.00 shipped and got a Athlon64 3000+ venice from Monarch Computer for 125. Slighty over your budget but it has a high percentage chance of over clocking high and would make a good perfomer. If you the x800gto, get the connect 3d x800gto it has a great chance of overclocking to 16pipes instead of stock 12.

Is that Chaintech Vnf4 a good MB for OC? Maybe I can spend a little more, to get either 3000+ venice core or 3200+. Which one stands a better chance for a good OC? Will my old SK-7 heatsink fit on the 939 socket cpu?

Also, just want to confirm, will my Antec 430W PSU support the new MB & pci-e card? Thanks.

All the reviews I have read say it does overclock well. I am pretty sure that PSU will be fine. As for CPU both are basically the same core, they will overclock about the same. If you buy the retail version it comes with a heatsink and fan, most likely your SK-7 will not fit. 939 uses a very different lock.

thank you, kojak61. I still concern about the PSU - isn't the newer MB and pci-e card need a 24-pin (?) connector? I wouldn't wanna spend extra $$ just to buy a special connector.

What kind of RAM would you recommend and where's the best place to get it? Attempting to get 2 sticks of 1GB... Thanks.

I guess I could stretch my budget a little bit. Are there any good MB's (perferably MSI or Gigabyte) in the $80-$110 range?
