200 16x Prime Peripherals CDRs $34 at OM b&m

I was at OM earlier looking around and saw that they had 200 Prime Peripherals CDRs for $34. They are in a box with two spindles of 100 on each and were sitting with the rest of the CDRs.

For what it's worth I bought a 200 pack awhile back for like $15 total after reabtes....

rebates from PP came fairly quickly.

Nice CD's...

FWIW,
If this is the same 200 pack as from the deal a few months ago, someone mentioned that there were 2 versions of this 200pack. The CD's with the round bullets next to title / contents / date were a higher quality blank, while the diamond bullet ones were a standard grade.

happy Hunting!

As has been mentioned, this is probably the same 200-pack that was free after a $45 mail-in rebate around a year ago. I was a little suprised when the rebate actually came. I gave 50 to my little brother and used a lot of them to burn stuff for friends. Almost all of mine are now gone. I've burned a few in my LiteOn LTR-24102B and all have been successful at 24x. If I was in the market for shwag blanks, then $34 would be an acceptable price for 200 pieces of this media, provided the quality is at least as good as what I got before.

good stuff for everyday use... yeah, i jumped on this when it was free after rebate. $34 for 200 is $17 for 100 and $8.50 for 50, so that is about fair.

ya, i got in on the 200 free ones too, and they are well worth even 35. never had a bad disk out of the burner. great cdrs, though since i still got more of them left, and more other free ones, i have no need for more.

The disks are fine, though the related ulcer caused by the rebate wasn't worth it. (I finally got it after about 8 months and a letter to the OfficeMax head honcho). PP is bankrupt now, so these are obviously being clearanced. I've noticed other PP products on clearance here in Nashville OM

PP was simply a relabeler, so God knows who produced the disks.

These worked greart in my QPS firewire 12x burner (Plextor mechanism), which is more than can be said for a batch of PNY 16x disks, the only brand I've had problems with. 10 of those out of 50 refused to be burned, even with updated firmware (Drive reported Medium Errors). Of the ones I burned, none are recognized by my internal Sony CDR drive drive in my Mac G3. I'll never buy PNY again.

It's so weird that different people get different errors with different media. I read about all these problems and can't figure out if I'm lucky or I don't burn as much.

I've gone through a bunch of brands with no problem:

On my 12x Plextor:

200 PP no problem
100 PNY
50 TDK (both CMC and TDK made ones)
100 K-Hypermida
50 Hi-Val
100 Pioneer
50 Circuit City
50 PC Zone

On my 24x Liteon:

34 Hi-Val (16x @24x)
20 PNY (16x@24x)
30 TDK (12x@24x)

I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

dont mean to thread crap but i bought Prime Peripherals a little while back and they really really really suck. after about a month the top started to peel off. Right now im making a copy of about 30 Prime Peripheral CD's that have the top peeling off and ive already lost about 20 others. So be careful.
