Looks like a good deal, but not for a gaming monitor. Lots of reviews on Newegg's site reporting ghosting/tearing.

A lot of ghosting while gaming.
Like others I have the screen "tear" problem. During games it looks like a little jumpy framerate that wouldn't really be noticeable if I hadn't played the game before.
This monitor has a very hard time with motion. The studdering/tearing problem is very apparent on any screen with horizontal panning. This problem can range all the way from being almost impercievable to being what I would consider unwatchable.

Firmware update may fix the problem?
I did see the tearing problem, but they fixed it for me from a firmware update.

8 dead pixels is their policy and the shipping isn't bad, only 9.99

How does this compare to the 2005fpw? I bought one of those for $330 and I'm considering another.

according to the reviews, it's far inferior to the 2005fpw.

if you can get a 2005FPW for $330, HOOK A BROTHA UP!

Yeah the 2005fpw has been in the mid $300's, so If i was you, i'd wait around until the 2005fpw is in that price range again.

i think the 2005fpw is overrated

i switched from a rosewill 19" lcd to 2005fpw
but i don't think the 2005fpw is as good as it's hyped up

I bought one of these from Costco about a month ago. The tearing was pretty noticable in both movies and games. The text was also blurry for me regardless of how I adjusted clear type. I recently got the 2005fpw and I have none of these problems. So, while the 2005fpw might be overrated, it's still good monitor for a decent price.

Overrated? Definitely not overpriced! I paid $365 each for two in '05.

I would not take a monitor even with ONE dead pixel. I consider that a defect. If you get one with 7 dead pixels, then take the front apart, and make another one dead yourself. There...you can return it to Newegg. I'm tired of all this Pixel Policies. One dead pixel is too many IMO. Good thing I still have a nice crisp Sony CRT with a .24dp and runs 1600x1200 @ 85Hz. No dead pixels and no ghosting.

The ghosting problem has been resolved by an update. Anyone that has/had it can RMA it to Sceptre, but the newer shipping models have been fixed.

oh geez. give it up. LCDs > CRTs every day of the week unless you are a graphic artist, and even then LCDs are getting a lot better.

i have 2 2005FPWs and 2 2405FPWs and they are far superior to pretty much every CRT ive used. no ghosting in games on any of the 4. no dead pixels on any of the 4. also, the 2405s have VGA, DVI, component, composite, Svideo, and a 19-in-1 CF reader. oh, and its about 1/10 the weight, uses a lot less power, a hell of a lot less space, and looks tight as hell.

sorry, your monitor is outdated.

OP, good find but this monitor is far inferior to the 2005FPW. seen it first hand.
