I have a 24 pin psu and 20 pins on motherboard plus there's a 4 pin connector right besided it. Mobo is DFI Ultra-D NF3. What should I do. Shold I just go and get myself a 20+4 pin psu instead?
Does your 24-pin plug have a detachable extra four pins, like shown in the 24-pin photo on this page? If so, detach those four pins and don't use them for anything.
Stock does the 24 pin connector fit on the motherboard connector?
I've done several systems with the same PS and just left the extra 4 pins
on the atx connector hang off. It's only going to fit one way with an overhang.
You should definitely plug in the ATX12V four-pin cable if the motherboard has a receptacle for it. It often powers the CPU, so don't leave it unplugged.
