20" monitor for $148 shipped!

looks like a little IBM logo to me

include in title: Factory Refurbished

edt: nm IBM seems to put their logos in the middle/top of the screen.

Except the specs on ePinions for the IBM say max res 1280x1024 vs. the buy.com listing showing 1600x1200.
Hmmmm.

By powers of deduction, it looks like they're not sending out one specific brand.

The title says "Major Manufacturers" and in the description "0.31 or better"

Sounds like you're not assured of any particular model.. otherwise they'd have no reason not to tell you which.

A TV sell for 150 for a 21" and the resolution is 320x210.
While this is almost the same with 1600x1200 resoution.

Just get a TV tuner and you'll be set.

The more DPI the sharper the image. Compare the sony 15" ..24 dpi look sharper and more vibrant than a 17" .28 dpi. But the 17" is not crap. YOu'll notice it the first time, but eventually the dpi won't be much of a factor. If you want quality go with Sony, they're the best.

after seeing one remanufactured 20" IBM monitor die in less than a year...
i'm forever staying away from them.

if you have a store that needs to display some image in the window...
perhaps...

but other wise, if you are trying to read texts off of these... good luck.
you'll have to have some strong eye muscles.

I got mine today. It's a Hitachi Superscan Pro 20 (CM2011.) I haven't hooked it up yet, but opened the box and took a look. Seems to be nice quality, certainly not flat, but I didn't expect it to be. Nice anti-glare coating on the tube. Specs from Hitachi say it's .28mm dot pitch, 1280x1024@77Hz, 1600x1200@66Hz. Seems like a pretty good deal as I see the same refurbished monitor online for $189-$299 plus shipping.

Of course, who knows what monitor you might get 🙂

dont buy this thing

ehhhh, i've seen worse. the monitors are guaranteed to be no worse than 0.31 dot pitch, but you may get better (one guy reported 0.28, which is ok). man, for $150 and 20", what would you expect?

You might want to change the title of the thread. I just checked out your link, added the monitor to my shopping cart, and came up with a Ground Shipping charge of $62.20!! That makes it a much less hot $211 shipped.

20 inch my ARS. this is what it says...

20" monitor 18" viewable

Thats a 19inch if I ever heard it. Add one inch to the viewable and that is the size of a CRT.
