20 inch LCD eyestrain!

I bought the Viewsonic VP201s 20.1 inch LCD last week and plugged it in via DVI on my FX5800. Everything is great, gaming is great in Doom and Tribes. The big issue and the reason it is going back on next week is my eyes are killing me after 2 or 3 hours of use, my flippin eye lids start twitching. I have tried changing the brightness and lowering the resolution from native 1600x1200 to 1280x1024 (this helped). Any ideas? Is this an issue with this monitor as I have heard of others complaining about the screendoor effect. My laptop LCD is fine and I work on that for hours. Thoughts?
