Origional thread

I had put myself on the list to get a camera w/LCD when they became available. They had been on indefinate backorder. I, myself, didn't think they would ever see the light of day, however Wolf Camera had called me a few days ago and told me my camera had come in!

I haven't had a chance to test it yet. In fact, I never tested one of the older cameras. I need to find a source for cheap cables! 🙂
 
*Sigh* I wanna test this, but I'm gonna be too busy with the weekend to obtain cables and make one. Maybe I'll break down and buy one from Fleabay...

edit: while trying to find out more... I found this at ritz camera (same/related-to wolf)
$40 waterproof digital 0.3MP which might be fun for shallow skuba diving

Yeah guys come on, get with the program. The previous was hecka long. Everyone's mom and best friend's dog's cat's hairball knows about this. Glad to know that it's finall for sale! How' the quality of the LCD?
 
Yeah, if its got an LCD screen, can you like.. take the LCD screen out and use it elsewhere afterwards? Thatd rawk stuff!

Since we are on an LCD roll here, are there any deals on small 4" or so LCD's I could add to my computer case?

Wouldnt ask, but you know you want the lcd from that camera for your computer case hehe

The best place for those is the Playstion lcds. I have gotten several 2.5" lcd from crapusa for $20, and 5"lcd for $30. You can connect the video out from comp to those lcd's. Just search the forums for psone lcd, should be able to find something.
 
Awesome. I'd love a tiny little LCD screen to mount somewhere on my desktop for a slick little Winamp window or something....

Just think of the possibilities!!!

You can buy disposable cell phones in Japan from vending machines.... You use them for a fixed amount of minutes....then they shut off and you can recycle them (get deposit back and/or discount on next phone).


How is a camera much different.... it's just plastic, metal, and "stuff"

Uhm... the *whole point* is that you pay a cheap price for them, because they are "disposable" (actually, recycleable, part of the camera's cost is figured into how much you have to pay to get your pictures), but that instead of that, we hack them into "permanently usable" digicams.
 
I guess they would be a lot more careful this time. Not sure if I can buy one. $20 for a digital camera is a steal but not sure how long that is going to be called as a steal. Very compact 1.3Mpixel digital camera with LCD screen is sold around $120..
