Run a heavy extension cord to your place and load the circuit with as much as you can.
Free (already paid for), 20A will lighten the load on your electric bill.

Sorry guys, no internet connection to the garage.
It's detached and a good 200' from my condo.

The bit coin stuff, from the looks of it, unless you have an asics box, you are pretty much uncompetitive. Is that correct?

It not anywhere close to theft if I'm ALREADY paying for it.
Just go away.

If you're already paying for it, how is plugging more electrical devices going to make you money?

I assume you are paying for it from your HOA subscription which would mean that the cost of every unmetered garage is averaged out and paid by everyone. That means people who plug in high power consumption devices are taking advantage of the system.

And conversely if I plug in nothing, like I have been, I'm the one getting taken advantage of, right?

Yes. I just wanted to clarify your assertion that you were paying for it.
Its like apartment dwellers plugging in their devices in the common hallway outlet meant for the cleaner's vac.

Except that it's not a common area, it's my enclosed garage that no one else has access to...

In all fairness, you should edit your thread title to... "20 Amps of Electricity - What Can I Do With it?"

Just get a long ass Ethernet cord.

I'll just drill a hole in my wall and let my neighbors run more spare refrigerators.
That's altruistic, right?

The smartest thing would be to get electric car or plug-in hybrid. Basically free gas for the time you own it. But that is expensive and would still take a couple of years at 0 fuel cost before you would make up the difference between that and a normal car and probably more counting the car you have now.

Could try to install a automatic car wash. But that is probably a bit extreme.

Easiest idea would probably to turn it into a workshop/hobby room.

https://products.butterflylabs.com/5-gh-s-bitcoin-miner.html

pick up 4 of those for a bit over $1k

20Gh/s

if you are running 24/7 you can make your money back fairly quick.

Bah... Butterfly Labs is a scam. They'll probably hold onto your finished product for 3 months and mine with it, and then ship it to you after the mining difficulty goes through the roof.

Seriously... How many people here are still waiting for their ASIC's, and how long have they been waiting???

20 amps isn't really enough to charge an Electric car overnight... is it?

My condo used to have "free" electricity and heating in the common hallway areas until some crafty people caught on. They cranked up the electric heater in the hallway to maximum temperature, and left their hallway doors open during winter. BOOM... free electric heat 🙂

It probably cost our condo board a few thousand dollars before they caught on and removed the heaters from the hallways.
