OH Crap!

I got my first order ($10), but they charged full amount $20 Plus $1 convienece fee for each of the other 49 orders. They said no refund or return. I now have $1000 AGC for $990 and 25 overdraft chrages of $29 each. I am screwed. Call you help this poor college kid??

It looks like orders are being cancelled. I ordered two. When I log in my deals are gone, so I guess I'm SOL.

The overdraft fees i can see happening though if people are using virtual cc's with $10 limits.

No, the virtual cc will just decline the charge once the balance is exceeded. No cost to me. The overdrafts would be from a debit card - though why anyone would use a debit card for something like this is beyond me!

I just accidentally proved the decline feature (again) today - I decided to break down and try the local deal ($20), with a 2nd virtual cc ($20 limit), but somehow I bunged up the order and it charged to the 1st virtual cc. I quickly got an e-mail from livingsocial that the card was declined - so that also aligns with the comment above about them authorizing against the card but not charging. I eventually redid the local deal order and am hoping for the best on both 🙂

I'd dispute each and every single one of those. Can't tell me its 10 then charge me 20.

Ditto to both ("it shouldn't be legal" and "I'd dispute every one of them") *BUT* it's hard to be too sympathetic to someone trying to cheat. If I were the company, I'd probably go for it too - likely the worst case is you simply cancel those orders and charges also in the end, and maybe you "teach a lesson" to some people 😀 Kinda funny actually....

This sounds right to me.

Also I looked in my deals just now and the amazon gift card is showing up again and it says my card will be charged w/in a day. It was there this morning. Disappeared earlier. Now it's back?

Ya... heh. That sucks but, technically you violated their terms so.... I have no sympathy for people trying to exploit a deal. Theres some people who ordered 10 or 20 or 50 of them hoping to resell on ebay and such. I hope they get all of them canceled.

What will be interesting to see is, how they are canceling them. I had 2 other people in my household order one, so I hope they are not canceling based on address or ip or something. I only ordered one for myself. Hopefully that is not an issue or I may have to call up if they get canceled.

Are your guys being shown as available or pending? My order still shows as pending from yesterday.

Pending here :\

Their website has this up:
Amazon.com Gift Card purchasers:
Thank you for making yesterday's deal such a success. We're hard at work processing each purchase. Thanks for your patience and you'll hear from us soon!
LivingSocial Presents

  • 50%
    savings
  • 1,301,296
    purchased
IDK how many out of 1,300,000 were people but thats a pretty slick way to bring in $13 million dollars in a day.

I finally got my amazon GC ready under my account, but when I go claim it, the pop-up says "Could not find purchase"

I did the 3 referral thing so that might have something to do with it...F i hope they fix this.

Edit: I should clarify.

The pop-up says "Could not find purchase", then below it it proceeds to tell me how to claim my gc. It lists the steps, etc.

In other words, everything is correct except for the fact that the code XXXX-XXXX-XXXX is missing and in place of it is the "Could not find purchase" line.

Yeah, they have millions of orders to go through, and you have to realize there were many people trying to exploit their system by purchasing multiple and they are having to go through and cancel all those.. Probably need to give it a few days.

Got one of my codes. The other isn't appearing under deals, but it displays a message at the top that it's processing.
