$20 + $20 ($40) off $200 at Crutchfield!

1. $20 off $200 by using your Mastercard.

2. Then when checking out, enter your magazine code, it will look like "*****-*****-*****" I think you can use it up to twice a month.

If you need a code, send me a PM.

Ripped from southcentralrain...

Bump for car stereo goodness... ALso do a search for Sirius as I think there friend and family promotion for free sat radio is still in effect.

That "magazine code" looks a lot like a referral code - from someone that wants the $20 in referral credit. You might want to edit that out...

The code will actually take $20 off of YOUR order (again, just did this recently). Keep in mind, the $20 'referral' credit won't actually show until you receive your 2nd email from Crutchfield.

Here's my email invoice with the referral credit:

Yes, you might get $20 off your order, but some enterprising person who gave out their code is going to get $20/person in credits for each and every one of you using that referral code. Can't wait to hear who this person is and how many $20 creds he gets... 😀

I can't wait until a mod reads this thread and picks up on what he's doing. :Q

For Crutchfield deals you shouldn't just post your referral code up like you're doing everyone a favor, you should clearly STATE it's a referral code and PM it to people who expressly ASK for it. "Coupon" sites like TBargains and Ab leshoppers do this, too - and neglect to inform you they're referral codes. Of course, maybe they're just "forgetful"...

i thought asking (or begging) for a code is prohibited?

As far as i can tell that's not a real code. I have one and doesn't have that many characters. I think the poster just put that there as an example. Additionally, should it be a real code you guys shouldn't complain, true he/she gets the referral $$$ but with Crutchfield, that's the only way for *you* to get a discount. Their discounts are based on friend/family referrals.

Even if you go through Techbargains, the code they put there is their own referral code's.

My Crutchfield referral code, not my catalog code, is in that three section, fifteen-digit alphanumeric format.
Same here. If anyone is placing a first order with Crutchfield you might ask your friends / family first instead of giving the $20 to whoever is behind Jagercola's referral code.

I also got one $20 when I gave my parents a Christmas/Birthdays gift of new speakers in '01 -- just had them place the order and wrote them a check. And they knew how grateful to be 😉

crutchfield = over price.

Only if you're a bad shopper. they have sone polk speakers buy 1 get 1 50% off. I have a mazda 626, so that's a highquality pair of 6X8 for front and 6X9 for back for 200-20-20=160. Good price to me.

Crutchfield = excellent service, real manufacturer warranties, cheap shipping, OK prices with some good deals (they had Polk RT25i for $179/pair before Christmas, gone now).

Of course, every Crutchfield deal is COLDER for me since I'm a VA resident - 4.5% sales tax isn't BAD, but you kid yourself whenever you order stuff on the internet!

I've ordered several time's from crutchfield and gotten good prices on what I ordered, but overall the are very overpriced. They do have excellent service though.

Right now they have the infinity auto speakers for good prices. For example the infinity 652i's dropped from 99.99 to a competitive 69.99. These are excellent speakers for someone just looking to replace stock ones without installing an amp.

I'm in the same situation as you - being a Virginia resident. Crutchfield does have good service and their prices are at retail most of the time. However, for me, I'm still better off buying my gear at Tweeter or Circuit City for the same price + taxes. I then avoid the small shipping fees that Crutchfield charges - and I can get my hands on the purchase the same day.

For others who don't live in the state of Virginia, you can find good Crutchfield bargains from time-to-time. One such example was the Panasonic "RP82" DVD player about a month ago. Most on-line retailers were selling it for nearly the same price. Crutchfield had the item in stock and when you took into account the $40 worth of discounts described within this thread, the deal was quite a good one.

Crutchfield throws in all the adapters and wires and connectors that Circuit City bills you serperately for. So with $40 bux off one of last years models, with all the cables and harnesses to make it work, equals a pretty good deal.

I bought my first (and still only) aftermarket car head unit, changer and speakers about seven years ago from Crutchfield. The detailed instructions written for my car, plus all the harnesses and adapters, were worth the couple bucks extra.

I'm looking at upgrading the stock system in my current car and BB wants $50 or $60 in parts to install the head unit with their "Free" installation. The more I shop around, the more I think Crutchfield isn't such a bad deal. Screwing up a computer or my home stereo system is a risk I don't mind taking. But I need my car every day and can't afford to have it out of commision b/c I can't splice some wiring together, or worse yet, because I've fried something in the electrical system. My car is such a lemon as it is; I don't need to take any more chances!

Good deal. Thanks. If I didn't have the $130 in BB gift cards, this would be a no-brainer.

I got my first crutchfield catalog more than 10 years ago when there is not many internet site available. Finally I place my first order with them, it contain sony casette receiver, 6 disc sony mp3 cd changer, 2 pair of kenwood 6.5" 2 way speaker, of course they came with bunch of nice kits and adapter and the best of all, installation instruction, all for $272 right before X'mas. I knew I did not get the best price in the country, actually price maybe higher than local BB, but if I addup all accessories, adapters, connectors, speaker mounting kits, fast shipping, great services, I have no complain about this company. If you are newbie or just want to get after sales services or need installation instruction, this is the place. Last time I got my pioneer from wholesale, price is about 30% cheaper than crutchfield, but I am a newbie, it took me whole days to install the head unit, but with crutchfield instruction, I finish installing CD changer and head unit within 3 hours. They are great and strongly recommand.
