(2)XPHome, (1)win98 - pinging problems *UPDATE*(FIXED) Now can't print/ping Printer! DOH!

Okay,
I've spent hours troubleshooting this network and I can't figure out why I can't ping!

I can NOT ping from the XPHome machine 1 to XPHome machine 2! Y?
I can ping from them(XPHome machines) to the 98 machine and to the router! Y not to each other?
I've switched out from a Dlink router, a siemens switch, another siemens switch, ALL of which worked BEFORE this happend! WHAT is the DEAL HERE?

THIS NETWORK WORKED last week! Y has it suddenly stopped working.
Everything has been rebooted. I've even had only the printer, and the two xphome machines on and that won't even work now! What's going on here?

If you enable the XP firewall it shuts off ICMP (pings) by default. This it?

indeed that solved the pinging problem!

now...the next step (THANK GOD you said that though) I thought, if I couldn't ping...what COULD I DO!

Anyhow, the next part of this problem is the st00pid printer. Xerox Tektronix 860. It's got an Eth. port on it which worked all last week. K...great, I printed to it a million times and even manged it via the http interface it has (really sweet I think). Anyhow, now I can't ping or print to it either! DOH!

It has a static of .10 and I've got .15 others that could potentiall be on are .11 .12 .14 that's really it though! What's the problem here? I've pulled the daughterboard on it and reseated it which fixed it the first time, rebooted it (a complete shutdown and wait before poweringup)

no CLUE Y this thing isn't werking!
