Hi all I am interested in buying the acer Al2051W wide screen 20" monitor, but i want to know if my setup will keep up with my games at MAX quality settings. Games im talking about are far cry, f.e.a.r, counter strike source, call of duty 2, and crysis when it comes out during first quarter next year. Ive got 2 7900gt 256 gainward graphics cards in sli, and i really like to bump up my quality settings. My rig consists of;;
cpu: AMD x2 4600
ram: 2 x 1gb corsair value ram
hdd: 10k rpm 75 gb raptor for games.

I currently use a 17" sony 4:3 monitor but as I watch alot of movies and want to be able to see more when playing on line first person shooters I am going for this monitor.

So my question is will I be able to play these games at max setting with a resolution of 1680 x 1050??

Crysis will more than likely not run at maxed settings with that setup. There was slowdown with Crossfired X1900XTs when they did a demo of that game. The code will probably get more efficient by release time but I still highly doubt your cards will handle it at max settings. FEAR also might have some slowdown in a few areas but will be fine for the most part. I'm talking about 1680x1050 4xAA and 16xAF with max in game settings. You're cards have the ability to do 16xAA which would be a slide show in COD2, Crysis, FEAR, and maybe Farcry.

I can max it out with 4x AA (FEAR) on a 7950GX2, and I get no hiccups. You'll play fine, it's a system many would be jealous of...

Take it from me (look at sig), you'll be able to play them just fine :)

Don't know about Crysis though. That made a X1900XT CF rig scream...

from the FEAR combat readme:

The Soft Shadows option will have no effect if the Full-Screen Anti-Aliasing
(FSAA) option is enabled. Also, you may notice odd rendering issues with
shadows in the game if you enable this option while FSAA is enabled
through the Windows(R) control panel.
