lol..not every downed light pole is energized still.

If you see anything that is made to carry electricity you always assume it's energized. Kinda like how you always treat a gun like it's loaded.

Only way I will ever touch or go near an electrical line of any kind is if I 1: see the breaker/switch is off and 2: have a tool on me to confirm that the switch/breaker/fuse I see is really for that circuit. This applies to house wiring as well as hydro wiring... well with hydro wiring it's not my job, so I wont touch it no matter what, but if I had to, I would only do so if I had a way of confirming it's really off.

Cool. Next time you are in a car accident, I hope people look for every hazardous obstacle that are very unlikely to happen first before rescuing you such as an energized pool of water. It doesn't matter if they leave you in your car injured, about to die, they need to look at every single possible scenario before they get close to your car.

Thats EXACTLY what emergency responders do. You know the first rule of an EMT when they arrive at a scene?

1) Assess the situation.

Second rule?

2) Put on some latex gloves before handling victims so they don't get infected themselves.

They don't teach you to be a hero by rushing in no matter what is around you. That's what untrained people do, and in this case it only added to the body count.

This. I feel bad for her, but in reality what she did was pretty stupid.

Los Angeles charges families of electrocuted Good Samaritans

The families of two Good Samaritans who were electrocuted after racing to the scene of a car wreck will still be charged for ambulance fees by the city of Los Angeles.

Earlier it was reported that city officials might find a way to waive the fees, which are estimated to be around $1,000 per person.

The four other injured victims will also reportedly be billed for emergency services.

City fire officials say they do not have the power to circumvent municipal codes and waive the mandatory paramedic fees, even in cases during which a citizen is accidentally injured or killed.

while i do think the people that rushed in without looking were trying to help were idiots and foolish. The city should really waive these fees.

Guess what? That's what every First Responder actually does. It doesn't take three hours and a few report forms to conduct a thorough safety analysis of the scene.

i bet no one notices YOUR remark. but look at all the mean things that were said to me.

lol yeah that's because some like to rag on you. You have such a negative personality! 😀

if it wasn't said by the time i posted i would have LOL

I am willing to be all these experts above that would have known for sure there were live power lines have narrowly missed death several other times and none the wiser.
