2 Wireless routers

I'm setting up a wireless network in a home. One laptop is old and has a PCMCIA wlan card, and doesnt get great reception. I was told I could use a second router to extend my coverage strength. Is there any configuring I have to do to get the routers talking wirelessly?

you can extend, but the second router will be on its own wireless network. you'll need a wireless access point for true extending.

Vey few Wireless Cable/DSLl Routers can act as WDS (or Client).Of the Brand names Entry Level Cable/DSL Routers

Buffalo Tech., some of the Belkin, and some of the SMC 802.11g Models are WDS as is.

Few Linksys models can be flashed with 3rd party firmware and work as WDS.

Most newer Access Points (not Routers) of most Brands are WDS out of the Box.

Otherwise.
