2 wireless routers with 1 cable modem to increase wireless range/options--good idea?

I have a cable modem and am currently using an SMC wireless router which I like a lot. However, there are rooms in the house where I can't reach the router.

I also have some in-wall cabling. I'm wondering if I can chain a second wireless router off the first one, and have wireless NICs pick up whichever router was closest.

Apologies in advance if this is an impossibly naive question. :) Would appreicate any help. D

yeah, you should be able to do that no problem

i'd just make sure they're running different WEP settings or what not so the card knows exactly which one it's supposed to use.

hooking a router to a router would be fine
