2 weird Xp problems

Fiest one is I cannot have ie and netscape broswers up at the same time. If I have ie browsers open and then open netscape then all ie browsers close. Same the other way, if I have ns open and then open ie all ns broswers close.

Second problem is getting on the net. I'm on dial up but once I disconnect and try to reconnect later, I can't. It keeps trying to verify my info but that's it. It's like it can't recognize my info and then tries the next number. I try again and get the same thing. I have to reboot to get back on the net and then I connect first try.

This is my second install of xp after a format and I had both of these problems the first time too, which is why I formatted. Any ideas? Anyone else get either of these problems?

Aside from those 2 problems I do like XP and everything else seems to run just fine.😕

I'll Let the minds of the Microsoft conspiracy theorists run wild on the first one but as for the second, hmmm. If you used "The setup disk" from your ISP I might see that as potential for trouble in regard to it wanting to set things up in it's old school way. Maybe try setting up your connection manually using the wizards...

If you didn't use "the disk" and you used the wizards, I'm not really sure where the root of the issue might lay. Maybe make another connection to your isp as manually as you can and see if connecting using this "new" connection re-acts any differently. Past that and since XP is soooo dang new, I'm sure we'll all be finding these little annoyances...Good Luck!

Thanks, but I use netzero's pay service and that may be the problem. Their software has to setup the dialup connection. It works fine in win98 and win 2k, but with xp I have to reboot to get back on the net.

Still have that browser problem, I'd think it's a setting somehwere that would control this. Just doesn't make sense.
