2 video cards, 1 computer

I'm guessing this can't be done, but I'd thought I'd ask anyways. I was thinking about getting a PCI video card for my current machine, so I could hook up two monitors. Then on one monitor, maybe I could keep current projects open... word, games, etc, and then on the other monitor I could have, say my instant messages. It sounds like something that would be overly complicated if possible at all, but I'd thought I'd ask. Is there anyway to do this, without getting a second computer?

well............. alot of cards that come out now support 2 monitors anyway, it's alot simpler

As acidvoodoo said, dual output cards are easier to manage. If you already have a spare PCI card then it's quite easy to use that too. Windows 98/2000/XP deal with dual monitors quite well, and I have infact been running this setup for a while (Voodoo5500 PCI + Whatever my current flavour of AGP card is).

Oh, one more question... Didn't voodoo go out of business several years ago? What's with some of these newer voodoo cards?

Newer? 3dfx went out of business quite awhile ago. The Voodoo5 line was the last set of 3dfx cards. If you happen to have a voodoo3 lying around, definately try throwing it in. I have used my gf4ti4400 and voodoo3 at the same time with no problems.
