Given the current racial tension in this country, in part over the illegal immigration issues that have been forced into the forefront, this doesn't surprise me at all. People are raging against people of hispanic decent, even the ones who are here legally and are citizens. Kind of like the attacks on muslims and Sikhs after 9-11. While on the surface, the reasoning is different, underneath it all, it's just racism...

Next, a 16 yr old is hardly a child. Consider the crap that teens in that age group do...robbery, rape, murder, etc...they are young adults by that age, NOT children...Act like an adult, get treated like one. Hell, I enlisted in the Marine Corps at 16 and went to Vietnam. If the story is accurate, this individual had NO business trying to kiss a 12 yr old...The story does not tell how well the families knew each other, (maybe the victim's family was close with the girl's family) as an explanation why he would attempt to kiss her, but if it was anything more than a friendly "peck", then it may indeed have been the start of an attempted child molestation...YES, the differeence in age, and the fact that she was only 12, would make it molestation...

yea it so sounds like he was trying to rape and molest a 12 year old from their description that he wanted to kiss a girl. i know damn well when I was 16 there were some hot 12/13 year olds, and now a days these girls are growing up even faster. i don' see anything wrong w/a 16 year old hooking up with a 12 year old. and i'm not even talking about sex at this point, i'm talking about kissing, as stated in this article.

If you look at it from your own perspective, sure, everyone will have some sort of adult experience at a certain age, but there isn't much difference between the intellectual capabilities of a boy at 16 and a girl at 12, especially given that girls mature faster than boys. Molestation is unwanted or improper sexual activity and since we don't know anything about what happened, this is hardly molestation.

What is there not to believe besides the "kissing" and that it might be a hate crime. The news stating the races of the boys in question are appopriate because it SEEMS like a hate crime.

No I don't take everything on the news as unbias etc. But for this story it seems appropriate.
