I agree. The idea of a hate crime is such a stretch for me. Even if I beat up a black man and call him a n***** while I do it, that doesn't mean I'm racist. It just means I wanted to come up with the most insulting epithet possible to verbally communicate what I am already communicating physically. It's hard to say whether these guys were racist or not, but the fact that they were at a party that would have a Hispanic kid in it in the first place makes that seem unlikely. Most hardcore racists/skinheads (that I know) exclusively associate with their own kind.

Ok I'm going to tread lightly on this one. From what I've seen on TV shows like "Oz" and "Prison Break" (which I know isn't reality but they perpetuate my belief) I imagine prisoners tend to separate along racial lines...Hispanics on one side, Skinheads on another, and Blacks on another. I imagine that Hispanic prisoners (by demographics I imagine they make up a decent proportion of prisoners in Texas) are going to pwn these two assholes once they go to prison...and I do mean literally pwn their assholes. Unless the two perps make friends with other skinheads, I don't think these two will last long enough in prison to see a 'humane' death sentence served. But what do I know about real prisons?
