First...welcome to all those who have joined! :D

DSLR now has two big guns....they have the power of about 700 PC's between them...and the potential for more... the only way to overcome them is to have more members that make the difference..and we can't even claim that...as they have almost 300 more members than we do...1662 vs 1949....so that's why we need your help.

Team AnandTech is good during a challenge, but the difference between TA and DSLR Team Starfire is persistence. Starfire doesn't slack off after a challenge. We maintain our increased production. TA will fall asleep again, within a few weeks of the finish and we'll cut their lead and pass them.

DSLR has their big producer back (about the power of 700 PC's or so)...and he's helping them pull away. Can the AnandTech faithful...with all the members...and all the PC's let this happen.....

Hello all.....

It's that time again....we have been challenged to a new race with DSL Team Starfire...

The last race was a great growing experience for both teams but was ended just short of completion because of the sad day of September 11th.

Since then though, team DSL Starfire has outgrown and outproduced us considerably.....now it's our turn!!! :Q:Q:Q

A new race has started and we need your support.....all it takes is a few extra cpu cycles...just a few. The clients use spare CPU cycles in the search for signals and other signs from space for intelligent life or anomolies. They are easy to use, have little (mostly NO) impact on your system (even in benchmarks) and also help science too :)

Come on over to the DC forum and see what TeAm AnandTech is all about...you'll be glad you did!!! :D

I don't get this entire SETI@Home crap.. what's this race? To tie up your machines and net connection to find out that there is no ET's? Or that there is and you will never reach them?

I take it that SETI means, Search for Extra Terrestrial (SP?) Intelligence @ Home.. But like I don't understand these teams.. and this big race or some crap..

I understand you're new to these forums, so maybe you didn't know: Don't thread crap. It's detrimental to your health.

DSLR has responded to our recent charge with their two big guns dumping enough production to put them ahead by 300 for now.

We are getting to the point where each time they let loose we are closer to staying in the lead afterwards. We could use your help to make sure that they don't take another lead in this race!

Also, we are very close to passing Microsoft, Intel and the Planetary Society to become the #11 ranked team in the world!!

We want to crack the top ten and start heading to our rightful place as the #1 Team in the World....we need you to do it!!

Hey guys, I am finally running stable Athlon XP 1600 @1.58 (for now) and have been crunching seti cli for the TeAm for the last couple days. Hope I help!

We have unofficially already passed MSFT and maybe even Intel. A member assimilated over 22K units last night and the latest daily stats say we are only 21K behind MSFT and 25K behind Intel. By tonight or tomorrow we should be ahead of both of them, and we will take our spot at 12th highest group in the world.

Well I talked my Dad into it, will be going over there and setting his CLI up tomorrow. A friend from work will be joining soon as well. He is working on his computer case right now and is worried about heat, will talk him into giving it a go this weekend!
