A few minutes ago a coworker brought me a 2TB flash drive he got from a friend. It was supposed to have music, he says. Yet, he couldn't access it. The capacity sounded exaggerated to me, and when I try to browse its content, neither I could, with Linux Mint or Windows Server 2003. Also, I was unable to format it.
A quick google search revealed that even when Kingston presented a 2Tb flash drive this year, the price is around $1000, not the kind of flash drive you can give to a friend. Considering the device had no visible brand (I could barely get some info in Linux about chipset, it said "Alcor" and something), do you think that this is a fake?

Lol, 2TB flash drives for $20. Who knew this was so cheap?

Yeah, it's garbage. Throw it in the trash before you lose data off it.

That's a well known scam. Usually they are 4 or 8GB drives - anything written to them above this amount is simply lost.

As with everything else: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
