Ok I traded this dude 3 DVD's for 256mb Samsung PC2700. Well he sent me one stick and it wouldnt post in either of my AMD systems nor my new Intel system. Ok so he sends a replacement and it does the same thing. These sticks of ram came out of a Sony VAIO according to him. They are single sided sticks.

Heres the markings on the chips:

K4H560838D-TCB0

The guy hasn't got back to me yet but I figured I would post here asking if maybe this stuff is compatible with Sony VAIO's only or something. I know he shipped each stick in something that looked like wax paper with packaging peanuts. I just need to know if someone has any info on this ram and what it is compatible with.

BTW I found a site showing the markings and according to it this is 266mhz ram(making it PC2100 right)?

a lot of PC2700 is actually overclocked PC2100, so the fact that it is rated at 266 doesn't really mean that much. other than that, i can't help you.

It's Samsung and it shows up on both VIA's and SiS's memory validation lists so it must be faulty ram. I'm in a trade gone sour myself at the moment so I'm feelin' ya brudda!

It shows that the B0 chips are PC2100 according to samsungs site. The B3 is PC2700. So aparently I have been ripped on that part(even though it may do PC2700 speeds).

Yep looks like it :(

I sold my Samsung Original True PC2700 a few months ago with TCB3. I listed out the entire sticker and IC code to avoid any confusion. Gotta be careful and ask for similar details if not provided, same as you would if buying from a lesser-known e-tailer. I'd ask for your DVDs back, otherwise leave the appropriate heat and take it as a lesson learned.

xero I was thinking that earlier as well. Not sure though. He just messaged me back and said both sticks work perfect in his nforce2 and intel mobos. He said he would refund my money for the DVD's so its all good.
