I use both the google and wikipedia search bar a lot in firefox and I was curious if there is a way to have two search bars up in the upper right, one for each, so that I don't have to continuously keep switching it.
Thanks,
Stephen

Don't know about that (it's obviously possible, but maybe not easy) but have you looked at quick searches? By default, if you type "google foo" in the address bar, it'll google "foo." I have that changed to g for google and w for wikipedia and I find it way faster than moving over to the search bar.

And firefox is not an operating system ;)

Yes, pretty sure you can do it, but it'd take some good know-how of CSS and you'd have to hack it up in chrome.

It's just easier to do what kamper says. And you can just "ctrl+l" to get to the address bar and "wp wikipedia" (wp is the default quicksearch term, you can change it) to search wikipedia for 'wikipedia'. You can add any search field from any site by right-clicking > Add A Keyword for this Search.

I haven't used google toolbar, but whatever advanced search it provides you can get with quicksearches. For example, if I want to get directions somewhere from my home, I type in "map *address*" and it works because the search string includes my home address already. There are a handful of sites with good advanced quicksearch ideas.

Do it in Manage Bookmarks > Rightclick on quicksearch entry for google.

Yeah, short answer is the "quicksearch" bookmarks that are already there.

Longer answer is that you can make a search of any kind by making a shortcut with some keyword (it's one of the fields in the dialogue) and putting "%s" in the url where you want your search term substituted. Or you can leave out the %s and just have a keyword bring you to a static url if you like.
