2 ?s: mixing DDR400 w/ DDR333 & transferring hdds

two newbie questions:

i'm thinking about picking up an asus a8v deluxe mobo to go with a new athlon 64 processor. the mobo has four memory stick slots. i intend to buy two ddr400 sticks, but i also have two ddr333 sticks from my old system that work just fine. can i mix & match them on the board for 2gb of memory total, without any issues? if so, must they be aligned on the board in a certain manner? (yeah, overkill, i know, but... hehe.)

can i simply pull the hdd out of my old system and put it in the new system, and have everything just transfer right on over, os, apps and all? i know you can do that with extra hdds you're not booting off of, but this is the one i'll be booting off of. (if it's relevant, it's a wd 120gb eide caviar that's been on an asus a7n8x board.)

thanks for your advice!

1) The memory will work fine it will just downclock to PC2700 speeds
2) It will work to swap your harddrive but windows is very picky about swapping mobos on it so you might have to do a repair or reinstall.
