Like many others I will be buying my last 2 parts in April when the price drop hits. My questions are how bad of a performance hit am I going to be takeing for buying ddr2 667 instead of the ddr2 800, and whats the price going to be for the quad 6700. The price only mentions a drop with the 6600 and not the 6700. For the first question I hope I will not be takeing too much of a hit. My plan is to get one of the Quad Cores and an 8800gtx or an 8900 gs if they arent terebly expensive. I don't plan on overclocking in the begining and im looking for good stock performance. Im still considering getting one of those ultra 120 extreme coolers after reading the article but they seem big and ive never used an aftermarket cooler so im afraid of trying to install one for my first time and doing it wrong.

My Rig Thus Far
Antec 900
Thermaltake 850 Quad SLI Modular
Asus Striker Extreme
2 Gigs Corsair Value ddr2 667
2 x WD 250 Gig HD's
Sceptre 22inch widescreen HD

With "normal" air cooling (no TEC's, in other words), you won't need RAM any faster than PC5300, even while overclocking. But, why would you want to save $15 on RAM? Just to assure yourself that it won't be able to be used with your next processor if you overclock, like PC6400 could?

You won't be limited especially using an unlocked multi chip, and that mobo which allows you to run ram unlinked. But as Myocardia says why not spend the extra few bucks for future upgrades and better numbers

honestly it was because i got the ram back in january and didnt pay attention to the forums enough to notice that most poeple were running ddr2 800. When i got the ram I believe it was the cheapest for the speed and amount and it was around 200
