I can't get your link to work but I do know that BonzaiDuck has experience with that Evercool AL fan and liked it. He said something about it rattling at full 12v, but said it scaled well to lower voltages. I decided not to get it because of the screw holes in the side, it would not fit with my mount.

Dunno about modding the Globe though...

the evercool AL fan does not have standard screw holes to mount the fan?

From what I can tell from pictures and others, it is a single block of aluminum, so the screw holes go through the entire block. With a plastic frame, the sides have "lips" with the screw holes in them. For example, my HSF uses long screws that go down into the block to attach a fan to it. This would not work with the Evercool as the screws are only long enough to be put through the bottom "lip" of the fan, not through the entire 25mm width. I also could not use the silicon plug/screw things that came with my Antec Superlanboy on the evercool due again to the lack of a "lip".

I apologize if I am not making myself clear, it is hard to do without a proper visual aid. The screw holes are standard size and spacing, they just go through the entire solid block of AL instead of only through the "lips"
