Hey i'm a pretty serious gamer but i want good performance in 2d/3d apps as well
Should I go with Win2k or 98SE? I heard that nowadays win2k is much better.

Also has anyone been able to have a detail view ALWAYS show up when you are exploring? I hate that icon view. thanks

I think Win2k is the way to go but a few people will disagree. If your realy not sure just do a dual boot for a while.

And yes you can have a detail view on all files.

To get all folders in detail view (in Win2K):

Thgis is Win2K, so it may be different if you have a different operating system. Conecpt is the same, however:

1) Open a folder and put it in detail view.
2) Select menu item "Tools|Folder Options"
3) Select the "View" tab on the dialog box that pops up.
4) You should see a button to set all folder views to be like that of the current folder. Press this button. The button literally says: "Like Current Folder".

All future explorer windows will now show everything in detail view mode.
