Ok this is my first time OC'ing and i got my FSB to 290mhz booted into windows just fine and i ran the stress test for about 30 mins. (now i know i should run this longer) but here my first question when i run it under load my temps are at about core 52 to 53C and the core 2 is about 51 to 52C under load(idle temps are at about 41) i have the ultra 120 and to me this seems a bit high? Are these temps anything to worry about and also as a ballpark figure if i bump up FSB to say like 300 would therebe a huge difference in temps going from 290 to 300 or i shouldn't see not much difference in temps. And question 2 i see the F4 BIO update is out of beta now i have the F3 i'm not one of those people that like to update the BIO's just to do it it seems to be working fine would you recommend leaving it at F3 (it seems to be working just fine at that). thanks
P.S i have notice for the record i put the speeds bck to stock speeds 2.9 and ran the stress test for a little bit and i' getting the same readings like 53C under load i would like to know is this is ok.Also these are reading from the program EVEREST when i try core temp beta the temps say about 53 under load and idle's at 38

that's ok. Intel rates the temp to 80c+ before you should worry. It's within spec

Seem safe to me then!

Yeah I didn't either, but that's the absolute limits. I wouldn't ever let it go past 65c ever ever and idealy hovering under 55c is what i'd go for.

I think the OP is ok then with his reading.

Start overclocking that thing!

I'm very new here and wanted some info on what people think, first time overclocking and i made sure to disable legacy and set my PCI to 100mhz and i set my FSB to 300 and i just started to run the stress test so fat its been going good. now how high do you think i can go before i run into any problems. Does anyone think i can go higher on my FSB without having to touch my voltages(i'm not quite ready for that). this is where i'm at so far. Also did a 1M PI in 16secs
