I am still in training at work. Our class had 23 people at the beginning of the day. About 1:30, one of the HR ladies stuck her head in the door and pulled one guy out. Then the trainer gave us a forced 30 minute break. While we were outside we saw the guy the chick had pulled out leave and then another guy took off. The first guy had been late a ton of times in 2 weeks, so we knew he was going. But the other guy had been on time, seemed to be doing really well and aside from being a Mac fanboi, seemed like he would do great. None of us could figure out what happened with him other than he said something he shouldn't have. He is one of those severely outspoken gay guys that loves to give sass. We all thought it was fun, but maybe he sassed the wrong person?

Of course the trainer couldn't discuss it.
 
At my last job we basically had a 6 month training period before we were fully independent. We had a guy go through training (and an extensive background check) before the company realized he was going to jail for embezzlement and fired him.
 
They were hired actors. Basically what happened was the company brought them into your training class to be examples of what not to do, and what will happen if you do what you are not supposed to do. It's the company's way of instilling fear into your hearts. It's an effective tactic.

yeah, but have they canceled OT yet? that can happen too--you work the hours, but you don't see the monies.

hmmm this happend when i used to be a temp for first union/wachovia/wells fargo.

our team lead was a temp who's interviewing for the SA position... and then all of sudden he was escorted out and fired on the spot.... i was next in line, and i got the job. that was back in 1997.....
 
That happened at a place I worked. 4 week training where people dropped like flies, one by one. The two that didn't make training were an older black guy ex-used car salesman and a crazy older disabled woman who had no place as an IT support person. I am convinced they were only hired for statistics or taxes or whatever. By the time I quit a month and a half later, 6 of 9 of the training class was out.

it takes all of 2 or 3 days to get results now....hell when i got tested it was just a cheek swab

At my job they test us on site, and get results back instantly. Only if those are positive does your sample get sent away for further analysis.

You can do a quick test like that, but it does not have any sort of confirmation. Meaning you can potentially get false positives. So if the test is negative quite often it stops there. If that test reads positive it needs to be sent off to a lab for confirmation, which could take 3 or so days to get done.

We had to take cheek swabs. Maybe it was something with the drug test.

And the place is not hostile in the least. Its actually very laid back.
