2 new linksys network cards and neither showing LED lights

Just bought 2 new network cards by linksys and have them both installed with proper drivers, but neither are showing activity and LAN shows cable is disconnected. Whats the problem?

Bad cables?

Did you make 'em or buy 'em? Are the straight-through, or crossover? what are the machines connection to? Switch/Router/Hub, or each other?

If the machines are connection to a switch/hub/router, you need straight-through. If they are connecting to each other, then you need a crossover.

If you made the cables, give up. Go buy some.

The cable is running directly from one computer to the other. I have two cables and both came with the cards. Have tried them both with no luck. More help?

Standard cables that come with kits are straight CAT5, to connect two computers directly you need a Crossover CAT5.
