whenever i's being accessed it makes this slight but audible sqeaking sound. Anyone got an estimated time until it dies? (60 gig 75GXP)

btw, this was a replacement they sent for a previous one that died.

Well these drives have been not good, they seem to have to have some mechanical problem, I would get another brand and copy the drive over right now. RMA the drive and sell the refurbed drive. In my opinion once a drive starts making a unusual noise it may be that it lasts a hour or a month it is hard to tell. Drives are cheap now, sorry about the drive but IBM is having a lot of problems with there drives right now.

RMA the drive, sell the one they send back to you and purchase something from another manufacturer.

Yeah, your drive is dying--as others have said backup your critical data *immediately* and RMA it.

<---twice victimized by IBM's garbage HDDs.

Live and learn.. I won't be buying an IBM hdd for quite some time until they have re-proven themselves
this crap going on lately is absolutely unacceptable.. sell your RMA'd drive (because it WILL die) and get a Maxtor or Seagate..
