I just completely reinstalled Windows 98 on my computer. I also installed drivers for my Voodoo 5500, SB Live, and Ethernet card, as well as counterstrike (all you really need in a computer). But now every time I boot up the computer, it jams up exactly two minutes after it finishes booting up. It jams up so completely that I have to hold in the power button for 6 seconds to restart it. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it (which doesn't amount to much). What can I do?

Sounds like a power mangement problem. What type of mb are you using? Bios setting?

It's an Abit KT7A. The power management settings in the BIOS are:

Power Management: User Define
HDD Power Down Disabled
Doze Mode Disabled
Suspend Mode Disabled
ACPI Suspend Type S1 (POS)
PM controlled by APM Yes
Video off option Suspend -> off
Video off method V/H Sync + Blank
Modem use IRQ NA
Soft-off by PWRBTN Instant off
Wake up events:
VGA Off
LPT&COM LPT/COM
HDD&FDD On
PCI Master Off
Power On by PCI card Disabled
Wake up on LAN/Ring Disabled
RTC Alarm Resume Disabled
Primary INTR On
IRQ:
IRQ 3-7 Enabled
IRQ 8-11 Disabled
IRQ 12-14 Enabled
IRQ 15 Disabled

How many of these can/should I turn off?
