Bump because I corrected the date to show it's a current ad.

After 82 views with no bumps, somebody besides me has to want this.

I would jump on this but the rebates and the fact that I live in NY means no Fry's anywhere near me....sigh

If someone gets the rebate forms for these, can you post them? I can't seem to download them from Outpost (not formatted correctly).

Here's the Google cache page for the desktop RAM: Link

From Crucial.com: Text

Looks like a good kit for the $60 VIA PC2500E motherboard I bought from clubit.com.

The PC2500E mobo requires "double-sided" DIMMs, which I believe means low-density RAM, with chips on both sides of the DIMM.

Does anyone know for sure if these modules have chips on both sides ?

Rebate form linked to your cached version says:
YES! I purchased an eligible Crucial product between March 12, 2008,
and March 18, 2008
I also cannot get to the actual product or rebate page. I bought on good faith that there would be a form with the correct dates show up sooner or later.
Thanks (again) Harvey.

Delbert, I saw both the rebate forms are hosted in the thread on SD. Outpost emailed them to the OP on request. Search "Frys Crucial Memory Deals" on their forum and download em there.

TestGuy, I went ahead and picked up this memory today locally from Fry's B&M to save on shipping, and yes I can confirm it does have chips on both sides of the sticks.

Back in November and December, I bought desktop RAM like this during two different sales. Turns out that different modules are sold under the same PLU and UPC code, so you can't be sure exactly what you're getting until you have it in your hands at the checkout counter.

One of them is labelled "MT8HTF12864AY-667E1". It has a Micron label as well as a Crucial label, so I think the chips are made by Micron. It is a single-sided module with 8 chips. Incidentally, the modules I got from an HP promotion that was discussed on this message board are virtually identical, except they have an HP label instead of a Crucial label. They have the same Micron label as the Crucial modules.

The other kind is labelled "M378T2953CZ3-CE6". It has a Samsung label as well as a Crucial label, and the chips are made by Samsung ("SEC"). It is a double-sided module with 16 chips.

I suppose you could ask someone at the Components desk to call "the cage" and have them look at the modules before you order them.

I phoned frys.com to tell their customer service people about the bad link. The woman said she would inform management about the problem. Meanwhile, she e-mailed me the PDF.

I'll be glad to send it to anyone who wants to host it. Until then, or until Fry's fixes it, you can PM me, and I'll e-mail it as I get a chance, and if I don't get too swamped with requests. Be sure to include an e-mail address that will accept the attached PDF.

< Update >

Stand by. Hosting goodness is on the way. :D

< Update 2 >

I just noticed that they sent only the form for the SO-DIMM. I phoned them, again, and they're sending the other form. Both forms should be hosted, soon. Check back for links.

If you're in a hurry, just call their customer service people at 877-688-7678 or 800-856-9800, give them the SKU for the one you want and tell them the link is bad for the rebate form. They should help you as they did me.

Thanks, IronPlasma. I'm gonna order a kit.

I found a hosted link to the .pdf rebate form at FW:

Do you have an opinion on which one is better?

It just depends on whether you need single rank memory or double rank memory.
