I agree with the lease-holder of the WTC site - doesn't seem practical to have such tall structures built. Rather than being ostentatious in building the tallest building in the world, with the most progressive designs, they should be more concerned about safety. 300+ ft higher than the original WTC is worrying. The THINK building while interesting doesn't inspire much confidence in me at all about being safe.
Both designs suck major ass. THINK sucking more. If I were a New Yorker I'd be furious that both of these were finalists. That would be the equivalent of giving a man on death row a choice for his last meal of taco bell or hardee's.
Why not build 3 instead of 2? There is ample room for three.
This is what happens when you get "artists" instead of architects doing this stuff. My god, both of those things would ruin New York. They are repulsive.
Flash back to SimCity 2000. I want to see some archaologies... Darco Arco perhaps? Or the Launch Arco. The sad thing is these two designs seem just as infesible.
I understand the need for a memorial and can even agree with leaving the footprints of the old towers alone... However, both plans offer huge buildings that are nothing more than giant wastes of space. What does that mean? They're be giant money pits.
They should just rebuild them identical but even stronger than the originals. We definitely should rebuild them just to say F_ck you Bin Laden. Like he didn't do anything to us.
I don't fully understand Think's design. They look like they are wire with a connecting bridge.
