1) So here are the pics of the underside of a 2008 Subaru Impreza. I'm trying to verify the center jacking point in the front. The service manual shows a block then what is supposed to be the crossmember. Essentially #2 looks like what is in the pic but it is hard to describe because it does not look solid. It is a piece of metal that is bolted on at 4 points with the top 2 bolts seemingly attached to the "frame" #1 seems more stable when looking at it in real life but I'm not totally sure. ATOT WRX drivers probably know...
2) So because I didn't know what to jack up I did it the old fashoned way of using a floor jack and doing one side at a time. What is the proper placement for jack when trying to get it high enough for the jack stand to fit under the pinch point? I just got close to the pinch point and started jacking it up but after I was all finished I noticed that the metal bent in noticeably. Is this normal? Did I pick the correct location?
