2 dvds 1 cd audio input

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to get two (2) dvd players audio output connectors into 1 cd input on the motherboard? Or is there another way to connect the DVD audio outs?
I don't have either going into the CD input now but the audio is very garbled. I think its due the not having them connected to the CD input. Right now I have my TV card pluged into the CD input.

Are you referring to the ribbon cables going to the IDE slots, or are you talking about the cables running to your sound card? Or do you have onboard sound?

Yeah, that was used when CD drives used to send audio directly to the sound card, but I think pretty much every player now plays it through the normal sound channels.

Just connect one.

Anything you find still uses direct audio (rare) just use the drive thats connected.

I thought I didn't it, but I'm having a problem with the DVD movies and thats why I thought I might need that connection.
Any thought s to why on DVD movies when they talk it is garbled, they sound like robots.
Music is fine and picture is good, but boy when people talk its spound terrible.

What sound card do you have?

This is normally a setup issue with either the software or the connections.

If the music is fine but the voice is garbled it sounds like it's messing up the cetre channel (voice).
What soundcard and what speakers and how are they connected?

I never use those cables. Have never encountered an app that required them.

I'm using the onboard sound.
Kelnoen had a good idea to check the speaker setup. For now I'm only using 2 ch stereo but maybe something is set for that and its trying suround sound. I'll have to check it out later when I get home and all the trick or treaters are done.

A configuration and/or decoder issue prolly.

First, you don't need the cable on any of the NT-based OS's (Win2k, XP). It passes the sound along the system bus. I'd check a couple of things. Do you have Dolby Digital turned off? You should be able to access your sound card control in control panel. Next, what software are you using to playback the DVDs? Are you running to an external decoder (receiver) or running normal stereo speakers?

I moved my dvds to the IDE 1 connector and its fine. maybe something is wrong on IDE 2. I have switched cables in and out of IDE2 preveiously trying to figure out this problems so it wasn't a connection problem. I think the MSI may have a problem on IDE2 channel. I'm going to check with MSI.
So now everything is running fine. On to more benchmark testing.
