2-cycle engine fuel ratio question!

I have an old commercial 2-cycle Snapper weed eater which requires a 32:1 ratio. In order to meet this ratio, I have to do the following:

.65 Gallon of gas = 2.6oz bottle of oil
.80 Gallon of gas = 3.2oz bottle of oil

Now that's easy enough if it's me getting the gas for this thing, but it's not always me.
5 gallons of gas with (6) 3.2oz bottles of oil would be close, but that would be too much for my needs.

My question is, how important is it to exactly mix this 32:1 ratio. It's getting to be a pain in the ass. A 40:1 mix would make my life easier, but would this screw up my weed eater?

What about those products like http://www.us2oil.com/us2_oil_products which claim to replace all ratios? Do these work? Are they really safe to use?

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Yes, the premixed products work. I don't know anyone who mixes their own.

I mix my own and dont know anyone who buys it premixed, unless you want to throw money away.

Just get some opti 2 stroke, mix it 3.2 oz to 1 gallon (40:1), and you'll be fine. Its made to run anything at 100:1, but wont foul plugs at 40:1

Lol. So, how many tankers of fuel do you go through?🙂

Huh? How does mixing the fuel and oil yourself increase consumption in any way?

To the OP: Frankly, the modern oils are so much better than they used to be that you can run anything safely with a good oil and a 50:1 mix. Companies like Echo have even officially stated that the new oils at 50:1 supersede the 32:1 recommendations for their older products. If you're still worried you can always just use 1.5 of the little 50:1 containers per gallon of gasoline and get a mix that's close enough to 32:1 that it won't matter.

Everyone I know mixes their own, unless they're not mechanically inclined...

40:1 should be fine. We even have a friend of the family that uses stale gas (recovered from vehicles and yard machines that have been sitting for 6-12+ months) and used motor oil for their two cycle mix. All of their equipment seems to run fine, and they've been doing it for decades.

I always mix my own and IMHO as long as you get close enough (even a tad high) you'll be fine.

Yeah, i bought a weed eater the second year i had a house (2005). I bought a 1 gallon gas can to make mixing easy and bought 1 bottle of oil. Ive been using the same gallon of gas for the past 5 years, i have a small yard and it takes 10 minutes to weed whack the entire thing, so i fill the tank at the beginning of the summer and its usually not even empty come fall. Weed eater still runs and starts great. Got about 1/3 of that gallon left.

Lets see. I have a large front and back yard, plus help mow my neighbor's yard when I see that it needs mowed. I have 2 string trimmers, a blower/vac, and 5 lawnboys, all taking pre mix.

I go through about 5 gallons mixed two stroke fuel a month, give or take. When I had jetskis, I mixed my own also and would go through 10 - 15 gallons or so a weekend.

THANK YOU ALL for all your helpful replies!

I ended up getting the Echo oil Z recommended. I'm also using old gas as recommended above and everything is working flawlessly.

Thanks again guys!

i just get the two stroke oil with the little section up top with marks. squeeze a little to get into the top section, then pour it in.
