What's the easiest way?
Option 2 would be to have only one rig connected to the Intarweb but still using it as a file server feeding the second one.

I guess I can get a second network card for the main system and using a crossover to connect to the second right?

I have two PCs connected to my WRT54G and my mom's computer on the other side of the house connected via wireless card. Fun stuff. :)

haha obviously. But I'm nowhere near network administrator status. In fact, I'm almost done studying for my Dumbfvck Administrator Ph.D. and even I can set up a network.

;) :p

j/k Everybody has to start at some point. Nobody's born with a networking book in their hand. Good luck on getting it set up! Having computers networked is LOTS of fun. :)

Be careful how you boast about an mp3 server, here. Mods usually don't like warez. ;) But I know what you mean. I've got 50GB of MP3s that I would love to have OFF of my computer so I can have more room for other crap... like more MP3s. :D :p

It's not for sharing over the Intarweb, it's at home and they are my CDs anyway. Playing some streams over the stereo is the main point.

step 1: install a second nic card.
Step 2: install a good software firewall
step 3: buy a 8 port switch and hook up more computer to it and setup file sharing
step 4:profit

If there's an 8 port switch, why would he need a 2nd NIC!?
