2 computers + 1 cable modem possible?

What's the easiest way?
Option 2 would be to have only one rig connected to the Intarweb but still using it as a file server feeding the second one.

I guess I can get a second network card for the main system and using a crossover to connect to the second right?

haha obviously. But I'm nowhere near network administrator status. In fact, I'm almost done studying for my Dumbfvck Administrator Ph.D. and even I can set up a network.

Be careful how you boast about an mp3 server, here. Mods usually don't like warez. But I know what you mean. I've got 50GB of MP3s that I would love to have OFF of my computer so I can have more room for other crap... like more MP3s.

It's not for sharing over the Intarweb, it's at home and they are my CDs anyway. Playing some streams over the stereo is the main point.

step 1: install a second nic card.
Step 2: install a good software firewall
step 3: buy a 8 port switch and hook up more computer to it and setup file sharing
