2 Cases, need some quick opinions!

Obviously price is not a factor between the two. Here is what I'm looking for:

Quiet, 120MM fans a must (both have them)
Smaller case; my current one is a full tower (practically server) beast
Would PREFER a side window

From what I can tell, the SLK3000B would be a little better build quality and quieter, but the Cooler Master has a side window with comparable quietness/cooling ability. Also, the Cooler Master has Firewire/USB/Audio on the front and Antec has only USB. Does anyone know if you can buy a Windowed-side for the Antec? If so, I would definitely go with it. Googling has turned up no such window tho

It definitely seems like it is. There are only two things stopping me from jumping on it:
all of my optical drives are beige; thus they would look better w/the cooler master & are hidden behind the cover neway
side window

how hard is it to make your own side window?

Edit: As I look closer, do I see that the 3000B has some kind of door covering the optical drives?
 
I also double checked on shipping and the Cooler Master is $50 + $17 shipping 🙁
Antec is definitely looking like the better choice now

the coolermaster front bezel can't be beat.. I just bought one from SVC and let me tell you the front finish is bling bling 🙂 it's a good case overall but a bit cramped after using my lian li pc75b 🙁
 
The both look too ornate to me, but that just me. They're both cheap and small. I'd try to find somepleace that has pics of the way they look on the inside before I bought either one.

The Cav 3 front bezel is a VERY POOR design from a ventilation standpoint. The only air intake is a series of small little holes on the bottom of the bezel. If you put the case on carpet it will completely seal off these holes. I say get the Antec for this reason alone.

Don't get me wrong, the Cav 3 is a nice looking case. It's only that the cooling is poor thus the case is a poor choice.

The 3000B is actually the same case as the 3700AMB just black instead. How can newegg justify the $79. shipped price.

For now, I personally am going to wait for a deal on the Antec P160W (or my tax return 😛). But both cases are definitely hot deals!
 
Actually the Antec 3700AMB/3000B/Compucase 6A19 is one of the best case designs ever. Except for being not quite deep enough in some situations (unusually long add-on cards can interfere with some drive mountings) it is nigh onto perfect.
. The side-saddle hard drive bays of the P160 et al. can be problematic for those that aren't using SCSI or SATA HDs. For example, try to connect 1 HD and 1 optical to the same PATA cable (which is the way I would do it if I had two of each). Can't be done unless you waste an optical bay with a HD on an adapter bracket or use one of the 3.5" external bays - unless you chance an out-of-spec really long cable.

You can get some Krylon Fusion spray paint that is made for plastic and pain the bezel.

I have had excellent results using it.

The Antec in my opinion is a much better case versus the Coolermaster...The Stacker is the only case they make that I like.
 
Get the antec 3000b I ordered from provantage and got the case the next day. They ship so damn fast and I am truly impressed with the case. Cheers

I hope your girlfriend enjoys her case with a crappy plastic front panel.

I hope you enjoy your mediocre at best p160 with a crappy plastic front panel.

both of these cases suck I hate to tell ya.

Cooler Master is just a tick less quality than Lian-Li and far better than some run of the mill crappy plastic front panel having Antec.

Spend some money and buy something nice. Don't buy some crap you could get at best buy or comp usa.

Screw the quietness and buy a fan controller for crying out loud.

Buy your girl something nice, not some crap Antec case, like a silver Lian-Li Pc65 and throw a couple of CCFLS of her favorite color in it and a really cool looking fan controller in the front of it.

I guaruntee that she would be much more impressed by a Lian-Li Pc65 than some crap Antec.
