I just got this board and I think its probably a keeper, I have a few questions about it though

1. What 2 dimms put the ddr on dual channel mode
2. At the startup the screen for doing RAID comes up, I don't plan on using RAID and this seems to slow my boot up, is there any way i can turn this off?

They first one I can answer...

1 & 3 or 2 & 3...you motherboard manual will tell you this.

Saw a website that compared the speed of both combinations.

Not much difference between the two. maybe very slight edge to 1 & 3.

Ok i just put it on 2 and 3 and i'm having some issues. I have 2x256 of mushkin PC2700 basic. When i put it on the ddr 333 speed it doesn't stay stable in windows, so i'm currently running it at ddr 266 speed. Also my sandra scores didn't improve, before it was on dimms 1 and 2. Any ideas?

Other than trying 1 and 3, I dunno...
I just run nanya cheapo ram at 266 and it runs fine (in 1 &3) so I'm not the one to ask.

BTW, what your BIOS CPU temp say and which bios revision you running?

I'm running the 1002.01 bios beta, its pretty nice. My bios displays my cpu temps correct i think.

Don't run your memory out of sync with your CPU. If your CPU runs at 133MHz bus, make your memory run at 133MHz bus and cinch down the timings to 2 2 2 5 1T, or boost your CPU to the 166MHz bus so it's in sync with the memory, while dropping the CPU's multiplier enough to keep the CPU within its comfort zone on the overall MHz. And if your system is typical, you can take that a step further and work your way up to over 180MHz sync'ed for an extra-fat pipe between CPU and RAM. Have fun! :D

I currently have a palamino cpu, so no fun with the multipliers here. BTW would it be better for me to have ddr 333 cl 2.5 or ddr 266 cl 2?

Tell you what, bump the voltage on your Palomino by 0.1V over stock, set the CPU and memory to 166MHz (DDR333) and see how it likes it :) Many 1600+ Palominos will do this, giving you the equivalent of a 2100+ or more. Start with, say, 2.5 3 3 7 RAM timings and see what happens, then try to tighten the timings down towards 2 2 2 6 or 2 2 2 5.

I have a 2000+ agoia, i put the v core at 1.8v, it maxed out at the 145 fsb. I think my issue for oc'ing is my 400 watt generic psu.

I assume you have the deluxe version. You should be able to disable raid by moving a jumper on the motherboard. Consult your manual for the exact jumper.

Looks like page 19 of the manual shows the jumper that switches off the SATA RAID controller. Yeah, those RAID controllers are aggravating with their s......l.....o.....w discovery that "Hey, there's nothing hooked up to me! :p"
